New Year, New Biblio Suite

Updated: Jun 7, 2023

A message from Virtusales’ CEO, Phil Turner

“2021 has been a mixed year with the effects of the global pandemic continuing, but there have still been plenty of achievements. Most notably, we have successfully launched the new Biblio Suite - our next generation publishing software which incorporates 20 years of publishing experience and powerful functionality. This is the biggest-ever, free upgrade offered to our customers, delivering what is essentially a brand new system without the disruption and cost of implementing new software. Most importantly, it honours our original pledge to our customers to continually deliver an ultramodern publishing system that meets the needs of world-leading publishers, now and into the future, so they do not need to worry about changing requirements of legacy software. After more than 20 years of investment, the Biblio Suite remains best of breed and at the leading edge for all types of publishing.

As we head into 2022, I would like to thank you, our customers and partners, for your continued support; and the Virtusales team for their hard work and dedication over the past year. I wish you all a very happy and successful New Year!”

New Year, New Biblio Suite

Virtusales is pleased to announce the launch of the new Biblio Suite, the next generation of publishing software for optimizing workflows. The new Biblio Suite incorporates 20 years of publishing experience and powerful functionality into a brand new system using the latest technologies from Microsoft and Google, with collaboration and feedback from over 100 publishers. Released to all Biblio customers as an inclusive upgrade, the new Biblio Suite provides a completely rejuvenated, best-of-class system, which enables publishers to roll out new workflows within their current system's landscape, fully optimizing their workflows to increase efficiency and productivity while also avoiding the disruption and cost of implementing new software.

The result is an ultramodern suite of publishing software providing best-of-breed solutions for publishers and content providers, with support for any saleable product - from physical books to digital content, journals, merchandise and licenses - plus a wide range of identifiers (including those beyond the traditional ISBN).

Looking ahead to 2022, we will further support the development of Biblio for optimizing new workflows and business processes - especially for rights and royalties, metadata and digital asset management. The future for BiblioDAM is looking especially exciting owing to a combination of new client publishers, our functionality roadmap and the new user interface. We look forward to telling you more about these as the year progresses!

We are very proud that, after more than 20 years of investment, the Biblio Suite remains at the leading edge for all types of publishing!

Highlights from 2021

Throughout 2021, we've worked with our customers to extend their use of Biblio to support new workflows and business processes including royalty calculations and statement delivery in the Biblio Royalty Portal; rights; and digital asset management through BiblioDAM to better support design and production workflows.

In October, we hosted our biggest-ever exclusive, customer-only event, #BiblioU2021 - featuring online presentations and conversations from client publishers to inspire and bring Biblio users together. Over 250 individuals from 56 organisations attended and/or spoke at the event!

The Digital Workflows Matter blog series was published between April and August 2021, with a view to explaining how digital workflows can help publishers to better their Editorial, Production and Rights processes. Dive into the series, here.

Event highlights included Kat Coveyduck, our Director of Marketing & Communications, presenting on content-led publishing at LBF, and both Kat and Rod Elder, EVP - North America, presenting on improving the efficiency of acquisitions processes and delivering royalty statements online at FBF.
