Virtusales Publishing Solutions is delighted to welcome Sounds True Publishing to the Biblio community.
In-line with its mission to create life-changing adult non-fiction and children’s books and eBooks, audio products and events, Sounds True has been in search of a publishing management system to drive its business into the future, and enhance its relationships with authors, agents, distributors and other business partners.
Sounds True has selected the BiblioSuite of publishing software, replacing its disparate Firebrand Eloquence and Klopotek systems with Virtusales’ Bibliographic, Contracts, Rights and Royalties solutions; enabling Sounds True to manage all its products, processes and digital workflows within a single system, which integrates with its new NetSuite finance software.
Prior to the BiblioSuite, Sounds True was using siloed systems which did not interoperate with one another. By consolidating these systems there is an opportunity to improve efficiencies and reduce the duplication of data entry between systems and improve the visibility of information between departments.
With the BiblioSuite, Sounds True is now looking forward to:
Synchronizing its systems to reveal a secure, single source of data that can be shared with distributors and other retailers automatically, as well as its staff members (no matter their location);
Implementing improved workflows between departments which minimize repetitive data entry and enhance the visibility of its information;
Configuring its rights workflows to increase Sounds True’s revenue and strengthen its negotiations with authors and agents;
And gaining superior clarity on the status of its projects and products, whether traditional (such as books, eBooks and audiobooks) or non-traditional (including online courses, events management and reporting).
As Jaime Schwalb, Associate Publisher at Sounds True explains:
“Biblio will allow us to integrate a number of disparate technology systems at Sounds True, so our processes are more aligned, offer a sense of ease for our team, and allow us to remain focused on our commitment to our products, authors, and customers.”
Jaime Schwalb, Associate Publisher, Sounds True Publishing
Sounds True will go live with the BiblioSuite's royalties solution in 2023; implementing a customized Royalty Ledger Summary report which its financial system (NetSuite) will in turn ingest - further improving the accuracy of its royalty statements by enhancing its royalties management and accounting processes. In addition, Sounds True will look to expand its use of the BiblioSuite in future, to further improve its efficiencies and workflows, enabling its Biblio implementation to grow simultaneously alongside its business and requirements; giving Sounds True the biggest bang for its buck.
“Sounds True recognises the importance of an integrated system to a modern publishing house, and we are delighted that they have chosen the BiblioSuite to improve upon their product management and CRR workflows. We look forward to further developing their system in due course, as the publisher and its requirements continue to grow.”
Rodney Elder, EVP, North America, Virtusales Publishing Solutions
About Sounds True Publishing
Sounds True was founded in 1985 by Tami Simon with a clear mission: to disseminate spiritual wisdom. Since starting out as a project with one woman and her tape recorder, we have grown into a multimedia publishing company with more than 110 employees, a library of more than 3,000 titles featuring some of the leading teachers and visionaries of our time, and an ever-expanding family of beloved customers from across the world. In more than three decades of growth, change, and evolution, Sounds True has maintained its focus on its overriding purpose, as summed up in our mission to "Wake Up the World."
About the BiblioSuite
Biblio offers growing publishers the opportunity to implement tried-and-tested, digital workflows that have been developed in collaboration with world-leading publishers, to streamline their processes and increase their output without increasing their number of employees. It enables content-led publishing models, helping publishers to fully utilize their IP and maximize their income regardless of the publishing formats chosen. BiblioSuite users are therefore free to focus on growing their business in the sound mind that all their data, assets and essential documentation – from editorial right the way through to royalties – are being recorded and stored in a way which will better the performance of the business, and will increase effective communications (both internally and externally, with staff, business partners, authors and agents alike).
The BiblioSuite is proven to help publishing houses of all shapes and sizes to save time, reduce duplication of efforts and increase the access to key information and documents company-wide. The only difficulty after implementing will be deciding what to do with the time you’ve freed up!
By choosing Biblio’s comprehensive system, your publishing house will be able to:
Manage multiple formats including books, eBooks, audiobooks, packs and bundles (including non-book products), licenses and merchandise;
Easily maintain high-quality metadata and enhanced ONIX feeds;
Control and record all aspects of safety-testing (if applicable);
Generate and authorize contracts with software that enables full rights management;
Create costings and schedules for production;
Raise purchase orders within the BiblioSuite system;
Handle complex royalty calculations and payments;
And much, much more.
