The special event celebrated the Phase One go-live of Virtusales' Biblio publishing suite, which includes the Bibliographic, Production and DAM modules.
The launch represented the first stage of a project to transform Princeton’s book publishing operations. Previously, the university press had a number of disparate proprietary systems that had been developed over many years. It was a complex collection of non-integrated systems that was cumbersome to use and caused support issues for the IT team.
Once Biblio is fully implemented with the other phases, Princeton will be able to work much more efficiently with data integrated into one highly functional system. With information all in one place, the press will enjoy accurate, real-time visibility of what is happening in the organization, from acquisitions to production, design, and on to sales/marketing, rights and royalties’ management.
